About College

The college was established in 2014 with the approval of the advisory office in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in 2014, and its administrative and scientific structure was established in accordance with Ministerial Order No. (Q/1266/7/5) 5/4/2014, so that teaching began at the beginning of the academic year 2014-2015. The Department of Archeology and the Department of Cuneiform Studies were opened. Currently, the college includes two scientific departments. The college also contains graduate studies programs in the following specializations: ancient antiquities and Islamic antiquities. The number of graduates up to the current year has reached more than 680 students who hold a bachelor’s degree and 84 students who hold a master’s degree.

At a time when our University of Glory crowned its annual march with its thirty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of its sober scientific edifice last year… We would like to remind you that this great edifice would not have reached this lofty status had it not been for the efforts of the pioneering professors, the living among them, and the departed beside their Lord, leaders, professors, and associates.

The College of Archeology was established at the University of Al-Qadisiyah under the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up No. (T.M. 3/3865) on 9/10/2014, which includes the approval of His Excellency the Minister on the recommendations of the ministerial committee formed under the ministerial order No. (S/7). /5/1266) on 4/5/2014 on the establishment of the College of Archeology at the University of Al-Qadisiyah by renaming it (Archaeology – and – Cuneiform Studies). The college has opened its doors for admission since 2014/2015, when nearly eighty male and female students registered in it, and the teaching staff was It consists of fourteen teachers from various specializations who have undertaken the task of teaching their dear students with various sciences and knowledge related to the antiquities and civilization of Mesopotamia and the various eras that ancient Iraq passed through. On the antiquities of Mesopotamia, especially since Diwaniyah has more than 1,600 archaeological sites that date back to different eras and is waiting for someone to remove the dust from them and reveal their relics that are unique in the whole world.
